Have a daily Spiritual Practice - One of the most important things we can do to connect to our abilities is to have a conscious connection to a power that is greater than us. Regardless of what you believe or your religious convictions, there is an essence to life that we can tap into that allows us to feel that we have a greater purpose in life. Whether you call it God, Source, Universe, or Divine Creator, there is something that seems to be guiding this life experience beyond what we are able to understand as humans. By having a daily practice of making a connection to this greater guiding force, you are creating space for this to be present in your life. You are inviting greater knowledge, wisdom, and guidance to participate in the whole of your being, which is vitally important as you open up your Psychic Abilities. Part of being a great psychic is to be open to this higher guidance as you invite all it has to offer in sharing your abilities in this world.
Learn to connect to your Spirit Guides - What are spirit guides? How do I connect with them anyhow? Your spirit guides are beings in the non-physical realm who we can rely upon to give us support and guidance in our lives as well as to help us to develop our psychic abilities. They are always with us; some are with us for our lifetime, and some are here to help us with a particular aspect of our life. It is up to us to make the connection happen and they can be SO helpful to us if we learn to build a relationship with them. By sitting quietly in meditation and being open to receiving their presence, you can start to make contact with your guides. They may only reveal a bit of themselves at first, but like any relationship, you will learn to trust more and develop a loving relationship with them.
Pick up a Divination Tool - When you are building your skills as a psychic, medium, intuitive, or healer, it is extremely important to have several tools that can help you to mediate your abilities and give you reference points for your development. Learning to use a pendulum is a great way to get in touch with your subconscious self which is what eventually helps you access those deeper realms of psychic information. Your psychic abilities created channels into the collective consciousness which is just out of the realm of our conscious mind. You will use divination tools to help you focus your conscious mind and you begin to go deeper into your psychic channels. Oracle Cards, Pendulums, Runes, Tarot Cards, and Scrying are just some of the divination tools available for you to work with.
Take a Class or Workshop - There are a lot of options out there when it comes to Psychic Development courses and workshops. It is important to find a teacher with credentials and a healthy background as a psychic medium/intuitive. You want to get the best out of your investment, so look for classes with good reviews. Sometimes it does cost for good training…remember, you get what you pay for even in psychic training! I highly recommend courses from The Arthur Findlay College of Psychic Sciences and taking a training course from Tina Zion - Medical Intuitive. These have been highly impactful in my development. Also, check out my Workshops Page to see what I have upcoming!
Work with a Mentor - Having someone who can give you ongoing guidance and accountability during your development is also a great option. Sometimes when we start something new, it can be easy to fall back into old habits and patterns. It can be easy to get lazy or give up when things get challenging. Also, when left to our own devices during development we may struggle with so much doubt and fear, that it can be hard to see that we are actually progressing. Having a mentor to work with 1:1 can help you with seeing the progress you are making as well as avoid any pitfalls that come along.
Join a Development Group - Having ongoing support and practice with your Psychic work can help you to gain and sustain the confidence you need while building upon your abilities. Because a lot of psychic information is perceived in symbols, we will want to have a solid understanding of what those symbols mean for us as we attempt to interpret and share messages from the Spirit World. By working with other intuitives, we can learn from each other and grow together in a way that helps each other benefit our psychic development.
Learn Reiki or Energy Healing - One of the best ways to start your journey into the psychic realms is by learning a modality of energy healing. Reiki, Sehhem, and other systems of energy healing help you to connect with higher energies and often open up our psychic and intuitive awareness like never before. Healing energies are accessed through the higher chakras into the physical body many times resulting in 3rd eye awakenings and heightened psychic awareness.
Meditate Often - to access your psychic awareness, it is key that we learn to get out of the mind and into a receptive state of being. In my opinion, the BEST way to practice receptivity is through sitting meditation. It doesn’t need to be complicated. Merely learning to focus the mind on your breathing and allowing your thoughts to settle can produce powerful results.
Pull a Tarot Card/Oracle Card daily - maintaining that spiritual connection can be easily done by working with your divination tools daily. Pulling a card of the day or doing a simple spread can help you to make that conscious connection to Spirit and to yourself.
Practice Expanding Your Awareness - as your psychic abilities expand over time, so will your awareness of how information comes to you. A powerful way to grow your abilities is to learn how to expand your sensory awareness. With eyes closed, you can begin to “see and feel” into the space around your physical body and into your environment. Expand your sensory awareness to the room you are sitting in and allow the images of your surroundings to come into your “imagination”. If expanding your energy and awareness is difficult, check out my guided meditation called “Energy Expansion” on my album titled “Journey to the Healer Within”.
